Joe’s Oyster Bar in Port Isabel is renowned for their best-fried shrimp and seafood soup in the area. Everything is fresh!  You can also buy fresh seafood in their connecting market.

Los Tortugos in Port Isabel is a great little place to enjoy fresh fish and shrimp or purchase some to take home.

For a hearty breakfast, try Mexiquito in Port Isabel.

Dirty Al’s at Pelican Station in Port Isabel is a casual spot with great drinks and big portions. Be sure to visit on Taco Tuesday for the best blackened and grilled shrimp, fish dinners, and burgers. The Avocado and Shrimp sandwich on Texas Toast is a must-try!

The Painted Marlin Grille in SPI is the perfect spot for stunning views, excellent drinks, and outdoor dining on the water. Bring your boat and pull right up!

Yummi’s Bistro in SPI is the best breakfast and lunch spot on the island, with tasty options that will keep you coming back for more.

Located less than two hours from Dallas, 45 minutes Fort Worth, and an hour and 45 minutes from Waco, it’s not as off-the-beaten-path as one would assume while walking around our little stuck-in-time town. Founded in 1886, Granbury centered around a historic courthouse square with shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The  Historic Granbury Square was the first courthouse square in Texas to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

One of the highlights of visiting Lake Granbury is the wide array of fantastic dining options with scenic views of the water. From Golf Club fine dining to Wild West ice cream shops and everything in between, you’ll definitely find something you like.

Explore some of the town’s most history-filled locations, starting by taking a step inside the three-story limestone Hood County Courthouse, which was originally constructed in 1890. The newly restored 1886 Granbury Opera House still puts on year-round performances, and the circa-1914 Granbury Historic Railroad Depot offers a glimpse into frontier days when railroads remained the most vital transportation between Texas towns. A few other fun stops include the Hood County Jail Museum, Bridge Street History Center, and Granbury Ghosts and Legends Tour. Nearby, the Acton State Historic Site, which also happens to be the smallest state park in Texas. There you can visit the gravesite of Elizabeth Crockett, the wife of Alamo hero Davy Crockett
